Here are reviews and photo galleries of gigs by Bernie Tormé, GMT (Robin Guy, John McCoy, Bernie Tormé), Stuart Smith, Deep Purple, Budgie, Robin Trower, Terrorvision and a couple of Jon Lord at the Liverpool Philharmonic .... enjoy!
GMT , featuring Bernie Tormé, John McCoy, and Robin Guy are touring in July around the UK, and are finishing off their second album..
From The GMT forum :
Well, there is nothing quite like rocking with Messrs McCoy & Torme.
There is & never will be a band more insane than GMT.
Both Bernie & John are completely full-blown nuts, & I guess I
must be too, as I'm prob the only other person on the planet that can
err, survive, as I'm in this crazy band WITH THEM!!!
I'd heard about M & T (as most people have), individually, but it
was only when I met Bernie that he told me he 'had a thing, with this
bass player John, who'd played with all the best drummers' & would
I be up for a jam etc
Well, the jam stuck & now we're baking cakes!!! ;o)
Talking of cakes, the new Bun-In-The-GMT-oven is in the Icing stages, it's monstrous!
Let's just say that if you like your ROCK:
fast, slow, chilled, mad, experimental, psychedelic, heavy, rhythmic,
pounding, grooving, anthemic, intriguing, delicate, molten, AND
catchy...
Then you'll be in for the best treat this year!!
Seriously, though it is shaping up to be quite an album - I reckon that
it's the kind you put on, & you'll instantly get a few songs (in
the same way that Cant Beat Rock & Roll is an 'instant winner')
BUT, it's the songs that you don't 'get' instantly, but after a few
spins, start to get in your head & work their magic, that I feel
will make this record stand the test of time & will ultimately make
this album truly amazing!
We've all worked really long & hard putting down some of our best
playing on this - if you loved what we created with 'Bitter &
Twisted', then this one definately 'goes up to 11...'
